Putting a big red circle on the calendar helps to focus me. I can’t stand doing things that have no “real” purpose, and even though I’m a middle-of-the-pack age-grouper, nobody’s ever told me that I can’t win. So I keep training. Sometimes I get injured or fall upon setbacks, but eventually I get back to it.

Love the Apple Triathlon! That was my first race back in 2004! I would also love to hear your thoughts on the Niagara Falls Half Marathon! Ohhhh – and I see you posted a workout from the UBC Tri! I’ve got a lot of reading to do!!!! 🙂

I LOVED the Niagara Falls half. It’s a gorgeous course. The biggest mistake I made was not spending the extra money on a more central hotel room and/or a rental car. I walked around too much on Saturday, when I really should have been resting.
